It is a done deal. Last post, I have posted a teaser about my first time flip.  Though the site is not that huge so I did not expect a large sum of money.  I only had a few posts on it, barely update it and had little to no promotion at all.

What is It?

If you are quite often here at my blog and read some of my posts, you would actually know the site, for privacy purposes and respect to the buyer, I would rather not state the site name.

My puny steps

I have been blogging for months, reading, learning about new things over the internet and ofcourse earning some moolah.  Though it is not that huge unlike those internet marketing gurus out there, but for earning this money on the sides for just a couple of hours a day, I would say, it is very.. VERY REWARDING.

Here are my puny steps for this kind of money making method - Site Flipping

Niche Research

I have read on one blog post that just think of something that a user like me or yourself would search.  This could be a fan, a lampshade or anything inside your room.   So I did what he suggested and comeup with a couple of items and ideas.  I am targeting a HITLOW or High Trend and/or searches that has Low competition, since this would give me a better chance to hit the serps or the search engine results page.  From some of my ideas, I just relied on my hunch and moved on.

Domain Name

I tried to get a two-word-keyword-rich domain name but since it was already taken, I decided to put some common fillers.  Common fillers are “site” “now” “online” “get” and the like. I registered and moved on with the site setup.

Site Setup

Ofcourse, I developed the site using wordpress.  I am really into wordpress right now because it is very easy to setup and manage this open source blogging platform.  (But soon, I will try joomla) Anyhoo, going back, I picked a nice theme (free ones, but premiums are prefered) and developed a nice header related to the niche.

Contents

I hired someone over dp or digital point forums to do a three unique-keyword-targeted articles that will be soon populated into my site.  (you could contact me if you would want his contact ID, he is very reliable)

Promotion

I did some promotion of the site, build up some back links thru site link exchanges (this didn’t work much) and posted some comments to some related sites. Within a few weeks, It hit the first page and died down to the second page of the serps with the keywords optimized

For Freaking Sale

I posted the site on forums and posted the stats, my asking price (reasonable ofcourse) and got bids.

Moral Lesson:

I think being patient is the key.  All your hard work and seo efforts would pay off some day.  I had times wherein I really wanted to shove everything and just give up.  Results will not that be immediate, just apply what you have learned, and you will see results in a matter of time.  Believe me, it pays.  I only had updates on this sporadically and still I get a fair amount out of this, what more if it is DEVELOPED?
