The reason for this is that the winner last year did not get a single trophy this year. Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood overthrown Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts on this years CMA Awards.
Just last year, Taylor Swift got or should I say dominated almost all single country awards. But this year, it is Lady Antebellum’s turn. It is the song “Need You Now” which helped Lady to came in strong which gave the group three CMA awards this year.
Lady Antebellum actually overthrown Rascal Flatts for the Vocal Group of the Year. This is history since no one beats Rascal Flatts for seven years. Not to mention Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
The other winners are Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley and CArrie Underwood - and yes, NO Taylor Swift. Miranda Lambart won as Top Female Vocalist and Brad Paisley for Top Male Vocalist Honor (it is his straight 4th year)
The Best Vocal Duo award was given to Brooks & Dunn. The farewell tour actually is on progress and Fans had them sing “My Maria” for their performance - chosen by votes online.
