I was browsing seo.ph this morning and found a post linking to a blog article.  The entry was an informal interview with a Filipino who succeeded in the domaining busines. I got inspired (once again) and decided to write down some of my thoughts regarding this venture.

First off, what is domaining? Domaining is a making money venture online with internet domains.  Domain names are like yahoo.com or google.com.  An individual can actually own this as intellectual property under his or her name.  This is where the money is for some online users.

Sounds easy right?  But it is not quite simple as you think.  It is not just thinking of a cute or cool domain which you perceive will pay out money once you have sold it.  This domaining venture is somehow congested and proper skills and knowledge is an advantage.  If you have been exposed and aware of the domaining business way back the 90’s, you  would likely have picked up gems that would set you for life, but at present, all the good ones are already taken.

A Clone to Real Estate Ventures

Venturing into domaining is also like the real estate business.  the only difference is that you own an intellectual property.  Intangible.  It is like the real estate business because if you have properly sold a house or property, the compensation is very rewarding.  Same goes with the domaining. If a person or a business entity wants to have the domain name you posses, most likely, the payout would depend on how you conduct business with the seeker or client.

Firing it UP!

I am still a novice to this and would really love to know more if not all about tips and techniques on how to go about this online venture. I have read some articles on how to’s regarding the domaining business and much more fired up to go into this kind of business.  I actually sold my very first domain name for fifty ($50) dollars and hoping that it is a sign that I shall do fine with domaining.

Kudos to Mr. Rostum, A Self Made Millionare for his inspiring story, and tips and to Mr. Mike Lopez for conducting the interview and the transcription.
