Hustle Up the Hancock 2010 Registration Information Chicago

In 20 minutes, general registration of Hustle Up The Hancock 2010 opens in Chicago. You can register online at www.lungchicago.org. The annual hustle will be on February 28, 2010 - But sad to say that the full climb has been sold out but spots are still available for the half climb. The usual, first come first serve will still be imposed to to those who had paid in full. If you participated last year’s hustle up, you should register again - get a username and password for this Hustle Up event.

General registration opens
Monday, November 2, 2009 at 8am CST at
www.lungchicago.org.

Early registration for Lung Heath Champions only (participants committing
to raise $1,000 minimum) is temporarily closed.
It will re-open on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

(Please note: general registration is for all other climbers
that are not Lung Health Champions.)

About Hustle Up The Hancock 2010
This is done every year - it is a benefit stair climb race upto 94 floors of the famous John Hancock Center in Chicago. This is done every February and this year it is on the 28th of February.

The event has a limitation of 4,000 climbers. There are optional registration for both individuals and by team. If you are to register online, you must get your credit card ready and pay in full. No race day registration is available and no registration will be taken by phone.

Register early - last year, slots were filled in less than one hour - so join the advocacy and Join the Hustle Up the Hancock 2010 today.

Some bloggers actually shot me an email and asked what kind of weblog is Hinlalato. This is actually a personal website with content that really caught my interests. It has been over a year since this blog published its first post and there are a lot of things that had happened. From the first month I have started blogging and finding ways on how to make money from the interwebz - IT WAS A ROLLER COASTER RIDE.

But in my case it is different. You see, making money online is a never ending process. You may find yourself on the very top and just have this feeling that you are on top of everything, but also, you may sometimes be at the bottom, succumbing to bitterness and angsts. I felt both believe me. It happened so fast that I really just wanted to quit. But again, what I have said, it DOES NOT STOP there - Hinalato will still be around, bringing you good information, some quick tips and just about everything you can find on the internetz - besides, the internet is one frigging rehashed content.

If you have been reading this blog, I have been posting information with regard to Black Friday 2009 - It is actually necessary to have a perfect plan thsi coming Black Friday. Stores will be stormed by mad shoppers and traffic will be as congested as hell. So here is a quick key points to consider to have a perfect Black Friday Shopping Experience.

Have a separate credit card (prepaid credit card is advisable) - this would separate your black friday shopping spree to your regular expenses
Request a leave from work - make this day a worry free day - have a dedicated time for his event
Wear comfortable clothes - this time you should wear comfy sneakers, shirt and pants - this would help you make it through the whole day of shopping galore.
Leave Early - as in realllly early and go to the store that has the majority of your wanted items.
Bring Power Bars - The big day will be a very busy one, so make sure you have your sugar boosters to help you make it through the day
Snack Break - Plan to have an early lunch or brunch so that you won’t have to go with other shoppers eat lunch. This is a huge time saver - If you have eaten your lunch early, you can have more time to shop around
Fill’er Gas Up - make sure you have enough gas (full tank preferably) before Black Friday

Some people usually do this to plan trips and see family members or friends who are in other areas and others… and others… yep, you guessed it START SHOPPING for the Christmas season.

In the land of Milk and Honey, yes that is the United states, it is very popular to start Christmas shopping on Black Friday, the reason for this is that, prices drop are crazy and people really would grab the as much as items as they can to avoid shoving and long lines. The main items that are usually hot and sells like pancakes in this time of the year are electronic and popular toys. In our tradition, people would bring Christmas gifts and then RESELL it on internet sites. Many stores only have of these cheap electronics and toys and this is a great opportunity for them to sell it over the internet before the Christmas season, that is, when the demand is high and supply are low. This means that people would really fall in line early in the morning just to get their hands on items with super low prices.

What to do: Viernes Negro 2009
If you have nothing against long ques, shoving and over populated malls, Black Friday is for you. So grab those shop suits, (comfortable shirt and sneakers) - prepare your credit cards and go for a shopping spree this Viernes Negro 2009 or Black Friday 2009.

Black Friday is fast approaching and today is second to the last week of October. Some of my friends are actually asking me the history of Black Friday ? Who coined the term and Why is it called Black Friday?

I would just have pointed out the LMGTF site but then again, It is a nice trivia and a good research and read for me that is why I made a post out of it today.

Before Friday, there is “Blue Monday” by Fats Domino, “Ruby Tuesday” from the ever famous Rolling Stones. Know why black together with the friday and why does the FRIDAY after Thanksgiving is considered as black?

There are many stories that I have browsed and read and honestly, I am not sure what to believe. In one article, the term “Black Friday” was coined way back in 1965 when Phillie policemen began using the term when customers are on a shop mode that usually lead to a crowd control problem.

Retailers, on the other hand used this as the official kickoff of the Holiday Season. It is the last few weeks that shoppers would really go into a shopping frenzy before winter steps in.

Black Friday is considered the busiest shopping day every year. All are aware that malls and outlets will be opened before sunrise and after that, it will really get crazy all throughout the day.

It is a negative connotation that this day would literally turn shoppers into an animal frenzy when it comes to shopping. Shoppers would patiently wait outside the stores just to be the first of the few to grab as many as they want. (again, these are for gifts - for others and for self) - They would really shove each other and somehow would have a fist fight over an item.

So for those who anticipates Black Friday 2009 - I salute you. Enjoy MAJOR SALES and quit shoving other people already.

Printable Halloween Decorations

Another post for this month’s celebration of Halloween. Today, it is all about Printable Halloween Decorations. I have been seeing a lot of requests of how to have their homes (for parties) spooked by cool Halloween Decorations. Though one can buy from local stores like Walmart, Target, Sears and the like, one can really make some decorations on their own. The internet is a vast place where you can get just about everything, including Printable Halloween Decorations.

So Where Are the Sites?!

I have taken the liberty of searching some sites that offer these kinds of home-made decorations. These babies are so cool, that you can customize it on your own, place it wherever you want and let your visitors get spooked by just mere looking at the deco’s.

Can you imagine yourself (and others) haunted by flying ghosts in front of backyard. See the picture below and get spooked. This is what I got from Readers Digest Site. Pretty Cool huh?1 What is even more cool is that it is VERY EASY TO MAKE.

Here are the steps on how to create these scary babies:

All you need are round, white balloons, cheesecloth cut to lengths of about a yard, and glow sticks. We used green, 4-inch glow sticks, found in party supply stores or on-line.

What to Do
1. Activate a glow stick and insert it into a balloon.

2. Position the knot at the top of the balloon, and use an indelible black marker to draw the eyes and a mouth

3. Drape the cheesecloth over the balloon, cut a small hole and push the knot through the fabric. Secure with string and hang in the breeze.

There you have it, one cool Halloween Decoration for your background. Now quit reading and start working. Happy Halloween.

Have you noticed that recent posts on this blog are dedicated to this month’s happy day?! Argh! Its Halloween. One of my favorite holiday once a year. Fun times always comes around whenever it is Halloween season. I remember going to Knotts Berry Farm and enjoy the whole evening there. Though the park may be quoted as “NOTs Berry Farm” it is all good though. If I can remember it correctly, there were plenty of ghouls, Freddy Krueger wannabe’s and Giant spirits that roam around the park. And after that. It’s PARTY Time - We would go to a friend’s house and have a beer knockout the rest of the evening and have a nice conversation with the company.

Those Were the Times
I really miss those times. I wish in the Philippines, Halloween would be recognized and celebrated as wicked as with other countries. There are some reasons that I can think WHY Halloween is not that popular in the Philippines.

Not Popularized by the Spaniards
Instead of spending money with costumes and chocolates, they would rather save it for the next month’s celebration - Christmas.

And a few other personal reasons. But based on my experience with Halloween parties, THEY TOTALLY ROCK!

Here is the Spiced Pumpkin Seeds Recipe

Ingerdients:

* 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine, melted
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
* 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
* 2 cups raw whole pumpkin seeds

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).
2. Combine the margarine, salt, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce and pumpkin seeds.
Mix thoroughly and place in shallow baking dish.
3. Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
