I was watching the television awhile ago and saw this commercial wherein the mascot of jack in the box named jack is currently on a hospital bed. It was like a 10-15 seconds advertisement wherein it gives a hint to viewers and consumers that the store might be going out of business.

Advertising Gimmick
Whether it is just an advertising gimmick or the real thing [going out of business], It is quite gaining attention. If it worked for me, maybe it worked for other consumers.
