It is this time of the year again wherein the Filipino’s Finest Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight belt from Joshua Clottey. If you haven’t heard of Joshua Clottey, he is a boxer from Ghana and a former IBF welterweight champion. On March 13, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the two fighters will battle for the belt outside Las Vegas. Arlington is located just outside the City of Dallas, Texas.
The fight actually formalized when Pacquiao chose Clottey to be his opponent after the Mayweather camp turned down the offer. The Mayweather camp had repeatedly suggested that the Pacman is using substances that gave him extra ordinary performance inside the ring… I know its pathetic right. But I have another theory for that. It is believed and theorized by many that the two camps are just prolonging their fight (with added publicity) so that the value of the fight would be tremendous that it would boost up ticket sales and ppv revenues. But then again, Pacman’s camp filed a lawsuit for defamation seeking damages in excess of $75,000. So, we will just see in the future what is the real deal with the two.
