We went to our designated precinct and started to look for the room where we would vote. It started out smoothly and got the number 113 only to find out that they were serving 45-65 at that time. It took us a while to figure out that senior citizens have the privileged to vote first and not to wait inside the waiting area. I have 2 companions that are over 60 and went ahead to vote ahead of the crowd. After almost two hours, my number was called and had my number verified. I was given the ballot form and filled it out quickly - I didn’t vote any party list which made my voting time less compared to others who voted for like 10 minutes. I inserted the form to the PCOS machine and went ahead to have my nail on my index finger filled with indelible ink. Time span was 2 hours.
This is the first ever automated elections of the Philippines. There were rumors that failure of election is not impossible, and right now as of 12PM - only 10% are only counted as votes - 90% of voters should cast their votes within 7PM as of tonight.
More updates as the day goes on. Pictures of our precinct will also be posted later.
