I have received through twitter, that XXX.com is up for auction in Phoenix this April with a reserve of 5 Million Dollars. OMG, that is one huge reserve. Recently this year, there was a sale of 5.1 Million Dollars for Toys.com and won by the monster company Toys R’ Us.
So what is the big deal for XXX.com?
Here are some keypoints that I can think of:
- XXX is highly brandable, meaning, you can do anything with this three letter word, may that be a company name, a product name etc.
- XXX might be a good mature keyword, you can build up sites like the Tube 8 Videos, or Redtube Videos, and other video sites nowadays.
- 3 letter domains are very rare. You would never find a 3 LLL domain of .com nowadays for a reg price. I think the lowest offer I have seen is at high $xxx.
- It is easy to remember. C’mon - XXX?!
Just with these keypoints, you will get an Idea why this domain name has a huge tag prize on it. So come, April, Let us see what will happen with that said auction. $5M is the reserve bet, and I am thinking that It will go more than that, let us say $7-$11M dollars.
