I have finished the initial touches of my new theme for Hinlalato.  I have removed some features and and some images and objects that may be a cause of delayed loading time thus having the threat of higher bounce rate.  I am quite concerned and meticulous about site details that it cause me to delay my daily tasks.  Would you believe that i have spent almost the whole day trying to find a good decent FREE theme.  Thanks to DBT or daily blog tips in providing such awesome theme.  It wasn’t hard for me to edit some codes either.  All I did was to search over the internet my whole question and browsed for answers. Here are some objects i removed from the pages.

SIDEBAR

Popular Post - doesn’t help in my honest opinion

Pages - I have over the menu options, why would I need it in the sidebar?

Adverts - Removed  two (2) 125×125 boxes.  It occupies too much space.  This is just a starting blog so, might as well start slow . :)

INDEX / Homepage

- The Homepage was showing five (5) full posts that really bothered me in some ways.  I had to search over the internet to get the codes on how to summarize the posts in my homepage.  At first, I was thinking of downloading a plugin but then led to a step by step process on how to have excerpt posts, showing only summary, about fifty words for the whole entry.  It wasn’t that hard.  I just replace some codes within the index.html and it worked like a charm.

Some say that one must not pay much attention to themes but rather concentrate on the content.  I believe that having a good theme would definitely affect your readers perspective of your blog.  Good content plus great them must always go together for a successful blogging.  I hope you like my new theme, not premium though, but its a start.
